Hi guys, I saw this coin on ebay, the seller had it titled as "Faded Date". here is the link to it:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/US-3-Cents-...em3ce288d80e

I looked at the reverse and it looks like the date is in the 1868/9.
In Good Grade, the coin is worth $400+. How much do you guys think this coin would go for considering it's ugly grade.

Thanks for your help.

I think I'm a little out of my depth here, but I have to agree with you based on the reverse, the value will be significantly lower because the date isn't really readable (at least not with these pictures)But considering the value I would definitely bid on it. I would personally go probably up to 15$ maybe a little higher. If I had money to spend I would certainly put a bid on it!

That is a type 2 piece 1854 - 58. The reverse was the same on both type 2 and type 3. This coin has two outlines around the star so it is type 2. 1868 or 69 would be type 3 with a single outline around the star. This coin is an 1858.

with Conder101, that is an 1858. Considering how worn it is I wouldn't bid on it personally.
