I've been at it here (S. Korea) since the late 1970s. Made a few good finds, and a huge bunch of common finds. Be glad to discuss detecting with any/all who are interested.
I'm using a MineLab right now, but have used Garrets, Whites, and a few others. Get to know your machine, and almost all of them will work for you.
And, I've been able to introduce several guys to detecting here in Korea, whom have come over via the Army and Air Force.
Will answer any who have questions, but won't give away any of my "trade secrets."

Is it legal to detect in Korea ?

Do you have to declare finds ?

What do you find ?

Is there a risk that you find (and get injured) by live ordnance ?

The laws in the UK are harsh.
Nighthawking is heavily clamped down.
But with out us detector boys there would be a lot of unfound history.
I do hate "treasure hunters" who sell on ebay.

My father was in S Korea in the late 80s, and began mding back them. Had to order his md through the PX, and made some great finds while there. Back then mding was basically unknown in S Korea from what my father has told me.
