Okay, this 1892 Columbian 50c has been graded by PCGS.
Care to practice your skills against PCGS? What would you grade this as?
I'll post the grade as soon as I have a few other member's guesses.
My own guess, before I got the PCGS grade, was: MS60.

I'm seeing wear on the reverse "globes" (or it could be my aged vision ). AU-53.

I'll go with AU55 or AU58. Detail seems weak over Columbus' hair and on the sails, although that could be strike rather than wear. The overall lack of luster puts it in the AU category for me.
Still a nice coin, and judging by how I'm always being out-bid on these on ebay, they are very popular.

I was close (.48 points off). Maybe it's time for a career change towards the professional coin grading industry.
