Hey All... Came across this 1807 Half Cent that looks like an over strike on the obverse but on the reverse has a recessed obverse in the same spots. Any thoughts? 15 degree die rotation also, a lot going on with this coin, lol...

looks like a pretty wicked flip strike, worthy of a slab!

For my money, I'd say this was a complete brockage, with an incuse, reverse image of the obverse on the reverse, which was put back in the press for another strike. Very cool!

I think Philadephian has got it, a brockage that was run through the press a second time rather than waste the planchet.

Thanks for the input! But what to do? Is it really worthy of a slab? Either way it's a cool coin... This is a first find like this for me, a friend of mine put it aside for me because of the die rotation and of course after putting it under the scope, you see what else... Thanks for your help!

I'm also with philadelphian on his assesment. That is a cool coin!

It appears to have been cleaned possibly recolored. It would more than likely end up in a details slab.
