Just sharing ... sold it but don't mind knowing how much I lost out ... .900 silver around an ounce. Translates: in the year of the German turning point 1933 _ Our future Adolf Hitler.

I couldn't find out the mintage or much else about it. I had only seen a similar one in bronze with its presentation box until oih82w8 posted the link above. I expect most were destroyed. They will be illegal in Germany and Austria today.
They soon got rid of the Prussian eagle and I don't think Hitler appeared on Nazi currency?

His image was not officially minted on actual currency. Some "commem" coins have his image and as you are lucky to have made out OK $$$, some are silver. The reins with respect to Nazi anything have been loosened over the past couple years. A lot of currency from that era is being released from several Eastern European countries and legitimate silver can be had at a decent price.

Sold on ebay for GBP £125 ... they removed the original listing because I had put it on sale including Germany and Austria ... it's probably in the collection of a white supremacist in the States now!

These medals were struck at the some of the German mints and sold as fund raisers through the banks. The mint would be named on the edge. They are legal in Germany as are the Nazi era military medals, as historical collector items, as long as one does not use them to glorify the Nazi cause. Collectors and dealers there walk a dangerously fine line and if falsely accused it can be expensive to prove one's innocence.

Quote: it's probably in the collection of a white supremacist in the States now Could be. Or it could be in someone's possession now who cares about history and doesn't want to see some of it repeated. A tangible example is a great resource to use when teaching younger generations about history, both good and bad. We can't deny it happened, and we dare not ignore it. But we can learn from it. I'm glad you got a good price for it

I only mentioned the white supremacist to highlight the fact that not being able to sell it in Germany or Austria is a pointless law.

"I only mentioned the white supremacist to highlight the fact that not being able to sell it in Germany or Austria is a pointless law" that is an ebay rule, not a law in Germany.
