to CCF. What are you thinking is an error? The coloring? Looks like something on it to me. Not an error or variety. More info please.

Sometimes a toned coin may have a "rainbow" of colors on the surface as a result of a phenomenon called thin film interference.

Cleaning coins, chemicial, damp or balmy environment also induces coins to change its original color.

These streaks of color or rainbows are the result of the interference of light by the very thin film of oil has spread over the water surface. This form of interference is commonly called thin film interference and provides another line of evidence for the wave behavior of light.

Heat can also tone coins. Some may put them in an oven. I got a roll of 1955-S that someone ruined with dipping in soapy water and putting them over a candle. They turned different colors. Blues, yellows and greens. Someday I will have to take some images?

It does have some cool coloring going on.

I'd just put it in a 2 x 2 if you like it and hang on to it myself.

I wouldn't slab anything under $100. This one would not qualify to me.

That's good to know... can I ask why you wouldn't slab anything under $100? Is it because of the cost of slabbing? I'm not looking to make money just want to preserve all the cool ones I find. Haven't tried slabbing anything yet cause I'm still trying to learn.

Got home tonight and went through 2 rolls of dimes and found 2 more 2013's similar to this one.... now this doesn't seem so rare to me and... has me questioning these coins even more. All these rolls came from the same place. On a brighter note, I also found a 1951 d dime! My first ever. :)
