I'm looking to fill up my Dansco Lincoln Cent album with the 1990-2014 S coins. Are these out there in circulation or do they have to be purchased? If they have to be purchased am I better off finding them as individual/sets of just lincoln cents or should I buy proof sets and break them open?

You might get lucky and find a proof Lincoln in circulation but it will be impaired and you will most likely not be happy with the condition. The least expensive and least time consuming option would be to find a date run of proofs so you can acquire them all at once.
Rest in Peace

It will save you a ton of shipping charges over one at a time.

You can probably find a similar running set of just lincolns on ebay if you are patient.

You can also find them in the bargain bins at coin shows and if you find a whole bunch you can try and bargain them down from there too.

I did just that ( ebay) and am pleased with the result. I did it for both cent proofs ('68-'08) and nickel proofs ('68-'11) and spent probably $150 total.

It's fun to find one in circulation but you'll never get all of them, so you'll have to buy them at some point.
