Hello all,

I am new to collecting. I spent a lot of time learning studying etc. I'm so afraid of fakes that I've decided to collect graded silver State Quarters graded by pcgs with the state flags on the slabs. I also want to get the parks silver quarters as well.

My question is, where do these wholesalers and such get these coins graded with the slab and the flag? I know the State Quarters are done I'm just curious as to how people got these to begin with. I apologize if this seems like a ridiculous question, just trying to learn.

Well, if they're PCGS graded then they send their coins to PCGS to get graded I guess? Or did I misunderstand your question?

Anyway to CCF!

to the CCF family

The flag labels were special edition, limited time labels that PCGS came out with for the State Quarter program. While the silver proofs with the flag label are relatively inexpensive in PF69, $10-$15, silver proofs in PF70 can get really expensive, $50-$500 per quarter. High MS coins with the state flag labels are also very low population coins and can also get quite expensive.

Why not just make a set from circulation? A clad version

I have made a set from Circulation and I really enjoyed that. As a child, I filled folders full of pennies, nickels, dimes, etc.

I am a huge baseball fan, and I think that the new HOF coin got me back into the coin business. I got the clad one so I'm good. Yeah I'm going to focus on the State Silver Quarters with the flag and the PCGS69. The 70 is just too far out of my budget. My stepmother had a couple of Morgan silver dollars she had that she bought a few years back cheap and gave them to me. One of them is an 1897-O and looks really good. But I'm no master of morgans. I will scan it and post it in the appropriate forum. I am rambling. Thank you for the welcome.

Basically the way wholesalers got the State Quarters withthe flag labels was thedid bulk submissions and requested them. It was originally a special request from a single bulk submitter but they went over well and PCGS made them a mainstream item that any of the bulk submitters could request.

I would buy the whole pile from that guy on TV for $200, and then collect the proofl Silver Quarters for the adventurous portion of the project. All of the quarters in high mint condition in books for $200 is hard to beat if that is Your destination. Then, buy a nice loupe and hunt for variations among all of those shiny, beautiful quarters. I love the Silver Proof Quarters so much that I have a pile of them myself.
