EDITED SEE NEW PICTURES Its weight is exactly 2.50 grams. So I came across this dime it appears to be double sided however the back side of the coin is backwards. I read about magicians coins being double sided but this seems tough to pull off as its in reverse. Also the back of the feels like is indented ( the picture of head ) instead of being raised like on the front of coin. Can anyone shed light on this for me. Thank you for any help

you should try and contact pcgs, they have a webite, btw this error if real is made by a struck coin becoming stuck to the die, in return the coin strikes the next planchet (unstruck coin)creating an indented relief.

My father he was Vice President of Fleet bank until he retired a few years back. He started as a teller at first national bank in Massachusetts working his way up the ranks. He saved any strange and bizarre coins that came through. The tellers would also save them for him when was the president of local branch.

So there just happened to be a coin show in town was just ending. A guy at first said he thought someone made it but then quickly changed to say he thought it was real. I asked what should I do with it and he said it in to be graded. He stated he would send it if it was his. He asked numerous times if I wanted to sell and I said no then before I left he offered me $150 cash for it. I am hoping now at this point its a real coin.

MikeDiamond is a nationally known error expert. I am sure he will chime in and let you know what he thinks. If he thinks it is real, then I would definitely send it in.

I think Mike or any other expert would want to see some better closeups to help you confirm it is real. My first thought was it was made by someone, but I am not an expert and if it was really found long ago at a bank there is a good chance it could be real, I have just never seen anything like it.
