My wife bought me "strike it rich" for Father's Day (she's awesome )! Having never seen the " Cherry Pickers Guide", I was wondering how different the two books are? Should I also get the CPG?
Rest in Peace

The biggest difference between the books is just what the name implies -- the Strike it Rich with Pocket Change is focused on coins you might find in your change. The Cherry Pickers books cover coins that are no longer in circulation and proofs as well as business strikes.

Having never seen a copy of "strike it rich", I can't tell you about the similarity between the two; however, I strongly recommend that you get a copy of the Cherrypicker's Guide.

There are actually two volumes; 1 encompasses varieties on half cents-Jefferson nickels, while 2 goes from half dimes-dollars, gold, and special commemorative coins.

The information in these books is invaluable. I always have mine nearby whenever I'm roll hunting (or cherrypicking at shows), and I've found a lot of varieties so far. If anyone asked, I would give the Cherrypicker's Guide full credit for my finds!
