Hello Members,

Ive got this 2 error strikes and I am wondering if these kind of errors are rare.

If you look at the 10 pfennig 1950 and the back by the tree you see some parts of another tree.

And the 5 pfennig coin looks big. With an thick edge and the lyrics are double or something?
Wondering what you guys think...

Best wishes,
Vincent

the first coin looks like peeling of the die but the second coin is a damaged Dryer Coin.

A Dryer Coin is one that was stick inside an industrial dryer for a long period of time. The motion and banging around causes the edge to start rolling as yours appears, also it starts to wear the coin as if it was erroded in a river.

Not stuck inside the drum with the clothes, but outside the drum. The rapid, constant tumbling between the rotating drum and the outer metal wall is what wears them down.

Thanks both for your reactions. So If I am correct it is when the coin came in circulation. That just an tool whe use these times makes the edge thick by rotating. So not the creating proces of the coins make this look like it?
So the second one aint worht nothing probably because whe all can make coins like this? Please say if I am wrong...
I did just collect these coins beccause I though they were alot more rare the the usual coins. But if I look on websites (the few with error coins) you can see that there are alot of different prices for these coins.

And that one is more old then the other doesn't say that much I guess. I've seen euro coins just few years old. With error strike are more rare... Then coins from 100 years old. Not always ofcoarse
