Small beads. If you`re not convinced count 'em, there will be 138 large beads.

I was looking closely at the Elizabeth 11 and it appears that it is the small beads nickel. It does not line up properly with the large beads variety.

The very best way to verify a large beads nickel aside the eye popping exercise of bead count........they look concave and high relief, much like the type 3 and 4 silver dollars and the type 3 and 4 small cents of 1965. Believe me you will know when you see one, it will stand out from any other 1965 five cents you will encounter . Much to urban legend and other wives tails these nickels and the 1966 small beads dollars are NOT regular issues and would most likely never have reached circulation. IMHO until proven otherwise..............back door jobs smuggled out in paint cans or sent in bags to favoured dealers of the period. At the middle to end of the 1960's coin collecting was red hot and RCM "back door" product was everywhere.
