HAve a look to the left and right of the top crown. There are some marks in the fields. At first I thought it was just a Cud.....but have a look to the right of the top crown in the rim markings. It looks like part of a letter. Any one have any idea whats going on?

This is an early Vienna restrike, isn't it?

The partial denticled rim is very odd - that, plus the deep adjustment marks, make me think this coin was overstruck on an older coin. Those blobs above the crown might be remnants of older lettering - especially if cuds/die chips there aren;t recorded for any other specimens of this type. But if so, I'm not sure which coin would be a best match.

This is an early Vienna restrike, isn't it? Yep dates to about 1787. You reflect my thoughts I had someone else comment that it may just be die chipping.. but that one in the rim does look like a letter

I would agree with Sap on this one rather than the comment you received saying it may just be a die chipping. I wouldn't say I'm an expert but I have seen a lot of errors over the years and these look more like remnants than 'blobs'/ Cud

The bigger issue is that your coin appears to be struck on a smaller planchet. Obvious metal flow lines at rim area and planchet appears to be smaller. I would weigh coin to see if it weighs lighter than normal coin.

That does look like the bottom of a letter @ 1 o'clock.
