I am posting 2 of my coins that are both being graded right now by PCGS - take a guess at what PCGS will grade this coin at - I will post its grade once my coin comes back which should be around the 12th or so. This is the 1st of 2 coins I'm posting.

1880 3 dollar gold coin - only 1000 ever minted!

-sorry- photo was taken behind plastic.

Whoa, that's quite a spread on grade estimates!
I see considerable wear on Liberty's cheek, hair, and headdress; ditto for the wreath on the reverse. I'd go with VF-30. It looks like a no-problem coin that saw a fair amount of circulation. Quite a rare date, too (mintage 1,000 pieces). Very nice!

I think its a counterfeit
The numerals are too rounded and mushy. I just don't like the looks of it. Too many signs of a forgery. So, I think it wont grade.

The numerals should be crisp around the edges as seen on this coin. The 1880 coin shown looks like a cast copy. On those, the edges of the numerals don't come out as sharp as a struck coin. I hope I'm wrong!1880-3-Dollar-Gold-Coin

Thank goodness! I am happy to be wrong on this! But it did have the look of some copies I've seen. I am thrilled for you that that coin graded and is the real thing! Congratulations!
