So I have been researching mintage numbers of "key dates" using the 1950 proof set, 1932 d&s quarters 1939 s quarter and some others.. I wish there was a way that all current existing "survivors" could be counted wouldnt it be neat to figure out how many have survived silver spikes and the associated meltdowns. Granted there is probably lower mintage numbers then the small choices I gave. The 32d&s are plentiful due to the nature of the coin. Whens the last time ya seen a 39s quarter.. I only ever found one cherry picking coin silver boxes.. And on ebay they are fetching a nice premium. Food for thought
And it graded near mid AU and I kept it just because It feels like a rarity in modern times..it originally was only around 2.3 million minted and thats only about twice as many as a 1956-1963 proof coin.. I have two of them one from a amazing coin shop I didnt know existed in town and the other from a silver bug that dumped about 200 face value..
In contrast: the LCS's I frequent:
I found 14 32s 9 32 d and 2 39s think this is a interesting note
