Even if it is a Cleaned AU-50, it's still worth ~$10,000 and a solid XF-40 cleaned is worth just south of $4,000 so at this price as long as it's genuine noone is really losing money. Hopefully the bid won't exceed 6-8k. And his shipping option is $5 First Class international...

It won't sell if it finishes at a price he isn't happy with, since he shills like crazy..

Anybody that spends 4k$+ on ebay for a coin that is not slabbed by a mainstream TPG company is asking to be burned! They'll figure it out pretty quick when they open the package and take it to their LCS (or send the coin in for legit TPG).

Even though its a tough date....I personally wouldnt spend that money fir it without being problem free for sure! And I see AU details/cleaning as the best case outcome...

So, looking on HA. A cleaned XF is about $5500 and a cleaned AU is around $8500.
But those had way more eye appeal than this coin, which was probably dipped and cleaned. Too dull looking.
So, I guess people are bidding commensurate with its open market value.

So far, I think my personal record for maximum money a new member has thrown out the window, and I had the unfortunate task of telling them here at CCF, is $14,000. People blithely jump into a knowledge-intensive hobby with both feet (and their wallet) without a moment's research.

There has to be some type of major issue for it to be in that slab.

Now it's at $5,100. I hope these people know what they are getting in to...

Someone is not going to be happy. Considering this coin is very rare and is often faked, slabbing by a reputable TPG should be a must.

One lesson I have learned the hard way (in more than 50 years of dealing with coins; wow, actually closer to 55 now that I think about it) is, there is a REASON those coins are in those holders -- or in no holders. Ponder that. Best Regards, George

If you check out his history, he's sold this coin a number of times and it appears each time it's been returned.
