I'm getting fairly comfortable with this grade range but I'm curious what others may think. I think the coin has fairly nice eye appeal although these are the sellers pics so I'm holding final judgement until I see it in hand.

I am going to say a solid VF 20 based on the following - the detail in the hair especially, also the eye/lid, nostril, mouth and ear detail. The ear is only worn through in one area. Yes the braid is worn as it is the high point, but the outline of the braid is still prominent. ICCS & PCGS would give this one a VF grade based on the several I have had graded in the past 2 years. Take a long second look, I think you will agree.

I would like to see more grading opinions backed up with comments to support the grade opinions given.

Im with Northcoin on this one.. The braid is still quite defined, lots of hair detail , eyes & eye lid solid as is the whole bust.... The rev is solid well struck and the fields are pretty much spotless.....It should get VF no problem...

Thanks for all the input everyone. I bought the coin thinking VF20 which is what I will write on the 2x2. Don't really plan on having it graded but I can see it possibly going F15 on a bad day. For anyone interested in comparison there are two ICCS graded 1894 VF20's on ebay.
