I personally use them in my Albums to placehold the random dates that are varieties that seemed to have been included in Dansco and Whitman Sliders.

Ive chopped up every mint set some of them twice from 1959-2013 and the early years tokens I give them to my son or play checkers with them..the tokens from the proof sets I did fun things with glue and made a sorta mural on the inside of my coin cabinet..the 8?-2006 cent sized p&d I've just been putting them aside but I will fill all the missing coin slots in my Lincoln Cent dansco with them until a suitable coin is found keep that nice luster in the book instead of empty holes!! Great idea!!

I tried to buy a large bag of them once on ebay, but no way was I paying more than a couple bucks, I remember there were almost 500 as I recall, I dropped out but the bidding went to almost $20.00.

I have never seen one in circulation yet. However one time I was helping a lady from my church evaluate her husbands collection (he had passed recently) and she had a giant metal milk storage container (like the ones they use on farms). Anyway it was full of loose and rolled pennies and I dug one out of there.

I think my wife got one as part of a tip back when she was a waitress in high school. I've always thought it would be neat to seed some of them into circulation and see if any ever came back.

I have one with the scales on one side and a P on the other, so they must be in circulation. not sure where I got it from but I have never bought anything from the mint or any coin ever except for an ASE and Ikes.
