Hey Everybody,
Just managed to pick up a Mint Roll of 2014 $1 Mob of Roos. First time I have purchased a mint roll.
Have a feeling most of these coins will show up online in an UNC condition. Will be interesting to see how many Circulated ones find their way online too.

Good score Kermit but are you sure they are a "mint" roll,or a security company roll ? I only ask as I've not heard of the mint doing rolls of these coins.

This was sourced from a dealer that was at a conference in Melbourne with RAM Staff and other dealers. They were purchased directly from them. I guess time will tell as to if its in a Mint Roll or a Security Roll.

In reference to these 2014 MOB rolls they were supplied to coin dealers in unmarked brown paper, not the regular RAM roll.
With only 1,000,000 of these minted and none available in unc condition in al-br standard composition, these coins will be greatly sought after in the future (like the 1968 coins)
Good score

Quote: With only 1,000,000 of these minted I would doubt that would be a final figure. We are only half way through 2014 and the RAM could well continue minting them well into 2015.

Can anybody tell me how the minting of the 2014 $1 mob of roo's circulated coin numbers are at?
Does anybody know if there is going to be more minting of this coin going to take place?
Have no idea how retrieve minting number for this current year.
Can find the minting numbers for all years before 2014.
Any help gratefully received!

Have looked at a lot of these rolls on ebay and they all have $20 roll in red on the roll paper! So what is this quote about? Quote: In reference to these 2014 MOB rolls they were supplied to coin dealers in unmarked brown paper, not the regular RAM roll. These rolls have increased in cost on ebay in the last couple of weeks and there are not so many bulk sellers.

I did say that I would publish the results, I wish they were better but they are Not . Out of two rolls (40 coins) I found just one that will grade MS65-66 all the others were pretty well "Bagged" up and would make MS63-64 on a good day Best of luck finding a MS68 or better coin in this rubbish

So to basically grade my coins it is all about scratches and dints? And to do this I would tilt the coin so it is as clear as to see its condition?
Hoping very much I am writing the obvious.
So in the minting process of these coins they bounced and crashed together on their way to being rolled in a wrapper by a machine?
It never hurts to ask the very experienced when one is very inexperienced.

Also quality of strike is important as well. This is quite easy with uncirculated coins. When trying to grade my A Unc or lower grades it gets tougher due to the amount of wear, remaining lustre and how the coin has been affected environmentally . BTW I am FAR from being an expert when it comes to grading .

Thank Heaps trout!
At least I am on the track. It sounds like a long way to get a hold of the coin grading concept.
Can see the finite would be a full on specialist event.
But it is good fun having a go!
trout in which way was your coins of a lower grading level that you have mentioned?
