That's machine-doubling (MD), which is very common on 1960's Lincoln cents.

Thanks for the replies! I've got plenty more "oddities" I've been coming across and I appreciate your input...my new attention with these coins. Watch for new posts. Any value to these MDD's? or should I fill new pages in my books labeled: "varieties"

Machine Doubling tends to have no added premium I personally save some odd looking ones for myself but that is probably not the norm.

Its is a error.. just not a collectable one

But not technically a variety

Or at least a die variety which is where there is variation from the normal design of the coin.

Usually caused by errors in the making or maintenance of the coin dies.

This machine damage happened on a lot of 1968-1972 cents.
