over the last few months I have been putting together a penny collection from 1858 - 2012 including all varieties and errors of coins in the Charlton catalogs minted for circulation. so I decided to upload the pictures for others to see I just put up large cents over last couple days and will be adding small cents in the next few weeks. some coins may be lower grade but they will be updated as I find better ones to fill the space, I will also be adding close ups of the coins that are hard to see the varieties. so please have a look and let me know what you think and if you see anything I have made a mistake with please let me know thanks http://s249.photobucket.com/user/gi...8%20-%202012i am also working on a collection of all the different haxby 1859 large cents which will be in a separate album Edited by gidjit

good looking bunch of coins, and quality photos. what camera / lighting are you using (great color representation)?
only suggestion would be to copy/paste the OBV & REV on to a single image.

only suggestion would be to copy/paste the OBV & REV on to a single image. its actually an old fujifilm 9 mp camera and just a desk lamp with a florescent bulb over the coins, i will see how easy it is to put the obv and rev together in 1 pic, I'm just trying out the site and not quite familiar with it yet |

A very nice collection, and great photos too. How many coins are in the large cent set when you add in varieties? Also how many coins in total for your cent collection 1958-2012? It's a great accomplishment!! How long did it take to complete your set? Do you have 1 or 2 favorite coins in the set and which ones are they? I appreciate you sharing your collection with us.

I appreciate you sharing your collection with us. thanks, its hard to tell at the moment as I also collect 1859 haxby #'s and I think there are about 400 of them alone. once I finish posting the pics I will have a better idea, i have had 1858 - 1920 complete for years but only in the last few months I decided to go for small cents and varieties as well,,,,my small cents are complete as far as having all years and about 95% complete when you include varieties ,many of which I found coin roll hunting as I have now gone through 2 million pennies(the totals of what was found will be posted in the near future in another thread), my favorite coins are the 1858 and 1859's as I love the look of the obverses (i also now collect every 1858 I get) |

i have added some close ups, they are a bit tricky to focus on but it does show the details well for the most part

I think my favorite design is the King Edward VII large cent. I have one of those myself, but it's nowhere near as nice as yours! Great collection!
