Thanks for the pic and opinion Wert, but I still think it's a minor clip, no extra premium but still a first for my collection. Here's a 43 clash I picked up lately ( another junk silver find), thought it was just a common clash till I noticed the clashed 'E' from GEORGE between the 4 and 3.Never seen this before, thought it was kinda neat and I'd share.

Nice find for the clash mark between the 4 and the 3..... they are not common, but you can also find the Obverse 'GE' clashmark between the last two date digits for 1940, 1945 and 1949. I haven't seen the 1943 one.

Looking through the junk silver bin today, found a couple of interesting 50 cents : A 1941 with what might be Struck Through Grease, there is a depression above the 50, above and to the right of the lion's mouth and another to the right of the tail , and to the right of the lion's chest. Also found an 1950 with a nice obverse ear-die clash, too bad it was such a low grade coin. and a 1943 3 over 3.

Real heavy clash marks in the ear of the 1950 fifty cents and a nice 3/3 on the 1943.
Your guess is as good as any for the lines on the 1941. I don't really have an opinion as to the cause ....

I also found a 1961 with die clash marks... those QE2 clashes sure are hard to find. Now I have a 1961 and a couple of 1963s, and still looking for others.
That 1945 5/5 (10 degree rotation on the repunch)is indeed the one from the bottom of page 313 in Charlton.

Alex A: you asked 'Do these sell for a premium?'
Apart from the 1948, the 1947s, and the 1947 Maple Leaf Major Varieties, and the well known/publicised 1946 Hoof through 6 and the 1949 hoof over 9, minor varieties of the George VI fifty cent family there are no other varieties that sell for much of a premium.... The family is a very fertile ground for varieties, both major and minor, but there doesn't seem to be the collector core that follows the Victorian Large Cents for instance...
I am willing to pay a little extra for the varieties, but usually you can pick them up for no extra cost. I know of a few other collectors for the series, but there doesn't seem to be the competition for examples that drives prices up. (For instance, see the 3/3 above, doubled to the east of the top loop of the 3.... there are 8 different dies that fit this description, and there are over 20 3/3's that I am aware of, and I didn't have to pay extra for any.)

Always wanted one of these, to bad it is well cleaned and low grade but that's what you find in the junk silver bin. From what I understand, it had air bubbles trapped in the blank planchet, when it was struck, the air expanded from heat and caused these high spot bubbles . The bubble under the 'CENTS" The Bubble to the left of the unicorn foreleg. Maybe bubbles by 'VI' and forehead.
