Ok cool-well if you look at the crater above the LL in dollar and it has two small craters inside of it then it's definitely a type 3 if not it's a type 1

From what I can see of the islands it certainly looks like a type3 so far but I like to look at the other markers cause they are more reliable I feel from coin to coin...crater edges are smoothed out also on the type 2 and 3 but I've seen a lot of different looking islands even on the type 2 the islands don't look the same from coin to coin but they r pretty easy to tell them from the type 1 and 3's

I always went by Planet earth.

Your pictures aren't really going to do the job.

But maybe it's just me?

I looked on one site, and all they mentioned was Earth and the islands below Florida. Is there a better listing of how to attribute them? I will start looking through my Ike$

Not sure about the ikegroup website they may have better descriptions for them-of not just look around the web there are some more-but for me once I know it's not a type 2 then I just go to the craters for clarification between the 1 and the 3...mainly the crater above the double L...the relief on United States and placement of islands are supposed to be distinguishing factors but not always easy-there are many other markers you will find like the brow lines
Above the eagles eye but for me the crater is easiest and most consistent way and hasn't failed me

The die wear varies the design of the islands. But note the type 3 area on the shore of Texas shows a different affect then the type 1 & 2 designs.

Fuzzy317 coin show this appearance on this area. So it must be a type 3.
