Not sure if this is the correct forum for this token? medal? Have never seen one of these before and was hoping someone could help me ID it. No date on this one. My Mom had it in a pendant holder so it is likely damaged. Has some neat toning and was wondering what it is. Thanks.

That is a cool looking round and I really like the toning! I have no idea how to identify it, but it might help to put it in this category if no one identifies it in this section of the forums. http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/...FORUM_ID=124

I found one that sold on ebay but it does not have an identifying info in the auction. http://www.ebay.com/itm/034-God-Fam...=b8Ga3X7x%25

Thanks Kris I missed that other forum when looking for a place to ask about this one. Possibly one of the forum mods can move this topic to that correct forum.

If you ever want or need one of your threads moved (or anyone else's thread too, if you see one posted in the wrong place), just click on the "Send Note to Staff" link at the bottom of the thread's OP and explain where you think it should be moved to.

That's not necessary in this case, because it's where it needs to be. This item is a privately-made bullion round. It presumably pre-dates the issue of actual American coins called "silver eagles". Whether it actually contains the amount of silver it claims to contain depends entirely on the honesty of whoever it was that made it.

Thank you Sap. I saw somewhere on another link that these may have been made by the Shell Oil Co.

Been sitting in a felt lined jewelry box for years. I may have to borrow that box.
