Wow, PF-69 UCAM?
It would be interesting to pair it up with a PF-69 DCAM 1998-S Silver Proof quarter and look at those two in juxtaposition.

NGC hasn't met an administrative task it couldn't screw up. Probably a regrade, and they only did half the job of recording the work.

The 1890's - especially 1896-1898 - were a Golden Age for US Mint Proofs. Their work during that period is the equal of anything they've done to this day.

WOW! She's a beauty. The OP is correct, this looks like a modern silver proof coin.

I'll bet this coin was the first or second strike of a brand new dye. Luckily someone had foresight to keep it well preserved till it was graded.

Still a little too rich for my wallet.
