1878-S Trade dollar (raw) This is my first one so thought I'd start small.. I just hope it's genuine. Looks to me in the VG 8-10 range. Any thoughts/opinions appreciated.. -Thanks much for looking. (sample Photograde for ballparking..) Edited by Night-Hawk 07/08/2014 10:31 pm

VG-10 sounds good. A very nice original coin, no signs of a fake.

If you have any doubts regarding authenticity, weigh it allowing for weight loss due to wear, and do a comparative ring tone test against a known genuine example.
From the pictures looks OK to me.

VGF-11? Realistically, I could see either 10 or 12.

A very nice looking F-12. Just think of all the commerce that coin saw!
