Hi All,

I just won an auction for an 1887 IHC from the bay.
Please give your opinion on grade and the price I paid.

Thanks All.

I don't know much about them, but the seller has thousands of positive feedbacks, and you only paid .50 more than the last person to win the auction. So I'd be happy with the purchase. My only concern would be if it were cleaned, but maybe someone else can answer that one.

VF details. It has an old cleaning. Around the edges of the devices and lettering it's lighter colored, and the whole coin has kind of a washed out look. Only a mild cleaning though, and it seems to have refined somewhat.

chasingtailbar, Just curious what you mean when you say "market acceptable?" Are you talking about among collectors, or getting a non-details grade from a TPG? Anybody else feel free to chime in also.

Cut to left of t in cent is out of focus and could be deep. Nice coin otherwise, not concerned about the old cleaning.

MIGHT have been cleaned a good long while ago. And if it was, it wasnt anything major. You paid a decent price. Not a steal and you did not over pay.

Not bad all around.

Images too fuzzy to make a reasonable diagnosis.

Vette takes crummy pics so it's almost guaranteed to look better in hand.
