The leg and eagles breast are paramount when grading these... I don't think I see wear, but on a coin like this, good images make the difference between a 64 and a 55... so I will withhold an opinion until better pics are posted.

The coin is remarkably free from hits or luster breaks....but it is also a bit lackign in the luster department. My guess would be AU55, but I suspect a dip or light polishing on the obverse as the surfaces just look too clean to be completely natural. Not a big deal though, still a nice represenative piece imho.

Nice coin, one of my absolute favorite designs. For this one I'm at AU-50 to 53.

My reasoning as to why are that the main places for wear on these for the obverse is the legs/knees, holster, stirrup, sword (and and guard), the reins and bridal and the glove closest to front. For instance where the reigns cross over the holster is showing clear wear as the reins loose "crispness" where they cross & the bridal is worn to the horses head specifically on the cheek (note how defined they are elsewhere), the hand guard of the sword, as well as the top of the stirrup and lead glove where it ends on his arm all show wear and loose crispness/definition more so than just a weak strike.

And for the reverse the high points are the eagles beast and legs which both also show a bit of wear, the reverse may grade AU-58 as the wears not too bad, but the obverse would hold it back a tad.

I will go with AU-58 as I think I see a some wear on the knee.

I would go a 55 to 58 as well, otherwise a very nice piece.

AU55 or so ... a nice example of this common but historical member of the classic USA silver commemorative series.
