The mint has a cool little museum with some early presses and some coins to drool over. Not to mention, you get to see Peter the eagle, in all his stuffed glory. He was the mascot for the mint in the 1830's and provided a model for many of the engravings of eagles. Also, the mint is a block away from Independence Hall. Schedule in a little extra time and take the tour. It is pretty amazing to stand in the room where the United States of America was formally created. You have to get a ticket for the tour first at the visitors center. They only allow so many tours, so it may be worth it to go there first. Also, the Liberty Bell is in the same area. Lots to see!
Rest in Peace

Hey, do you think their 1/10 oz. gold eagles are worth it at $152 in the gift shop?

A good question but lets not hijack this thread. In all respect.
Post the question in another thread.
