It looks like a minor clip to me. Perhaps that had reduced the possibility of the Blakeley effect? The edge looks pinched as opposed to shear/break.

Yep, a genuine curved clip. Being that it is so minor I would expect less than a dollar for it, but if you find the right person you might be able to squeeze out a couple of $s.
