This coin was stapled in a 2x2 hence the holes in the packaging, it doesn't seem to be protected. I've had it in a box with other coins in 2x2's 20 plus yrs now. What are some suggestions for preservation for the future...obviously not air tight now.

I would just put into a cardboard 2x2. Nice coin.

If you don't mind removing the coin from the cello, you could buy a plastic airtight and put it in there. That would offer good protection. Another option, which I think might be a bit of an overkill, would be to have the coin slabbed (although that may not be cost effective or very desirable, but it would offer the best way to seal it off from environmental factors).

Kinda wish I hadn't taken it out of the cardboard 2x2 but there was an additional puncture in the plastic...the one the coin had migrated toward near the date. I thought maybe the circular brown spots might be due to that hole (?). I also wanted to inspect the mint mark since it was kinda filled and blobby. Hard to see with layers over it. For now I've slid it into a plastic flip until I decide further. Never had a coin slabbed before, what costs would that afford? Thx
