Hi all, I am currently subscribing to Coin World (12 issue print) and also get the ANA Numismatist (12 issue print). I get the weekly Coin World digital issue but it's hard to read since their website update a few weeks ago (text is blurry). Besides, I'd prefer to have a print edition vs online, I spend enough time on the computer at work...
Anyway, am thinking about the ANA offer of $25 for 52 issues of the Numismatic News to satisfy my weekly want of something to read. Can someone help me with the below questions?
Is NN more current news and ads or are there good in depth or feature articles relating to numismatic history? Is this the print edition? Is there something it has that the other two don't? How many pages are the issues generally?
Thanks for the help, I could call NN and ask or even subscribe and cancel if it wasn't what I wanted but thought I'd check in with this group first for some honest feedback.
Thanks!

I've been a subscriber since 2007 to the print edition.

It has current news in it like US Mint releases, articles about major coin shows turnouts and auction highlights. Within the pages, there are letters to the editor, a viewpoint section (where a collector can write in about his or her viewpoint on numismatic topics), Mint sales stats, Coin Market at a glance--a short column with a price guide.

There have been articles that discuss coins in a certain year, or a particular series. NN just ran a series of 6 articles on the early coinage of the US from 1776 to 1792 by R.W. Julian.

I enjoy reading it as soon as I get it. I will say there are some times when there isn't much article wise then there are other times it is packed. A small issue may have 50 pages, a larger issue a little over 100.

I don't know if I've provided anything useful--it seems like I've rambled in this post.

I found over the years NN had more advertising, and less articles I enjoyed each year, that is why I stopped my subscription. I stayed on with Coin World though, and now get digital editions to cut down on paper clutter and help save the environment. I did enjoy their coin articles and the authors that write for them are quite good. You already get the Numismatist, in my opinion one of the very best coin magazines produced today, though it can be hit or miss with my collecting interests from issue to issue, I always learn something from reading it.

What is your main collecting interest? Maybe try joining a club, most also provide newsletters, like Early American Coppers or C4 (Colonial coins) Fly-In for Flying Eagle and Indian Head cents, CONECA for varieties and errors, John Reich Society for bust coinage, The Seated Liberty club for Gobrecht's coinage, etc. My favorites are the EAC for the early coppers and Numismatic books (so I joined the NBS), I was a member of the Fly-In for years, their magazine is top notch!

I like NN... yes it is mostly fluff. But it occasionally drops a nugget of 'hey, I didn't know THAT' and it happens enough to be worth the the time it takes in my 'reading room'.

The recently went to 3 print and 1 digital, but the digital issue is a high quality pdf. I'll have to try reading it on my new tablet.
