Hi all :)
I have a question:
How rare is 1927 One Penny with Indian Obverse, with clear visible 8 pearls and clear central diamond (without merging with the line)?
Can anyone post link to similar or better coin?

If I get interesting answers in the topic and links to other similar coins with 8 clear pearls and diamonds, I promise to put at least one picture of the coin when it arrives by mail.

Not sure what coin you mean.
Indian Head cents were produced from 1859-1909.

The original poster is asking about a 1927 Australian cent struck with an obverse made in Calcutta, India.

I am not much help to the original poster other than the above info which I found using a Google search.

The '27 Indian is rare but not extremely rare. I have 30+ in average circulated condition (4-5 pearls)but getting one in a nice grade is hard (my best is 6 pearls and just a portion of the diamond)).A full 8 pearler is very desirable and not that many would be around. The best I know of is in the Benchmark Collection and is in a NGC MS64 BN slab. If you Google "Benchmark Collection" make sure you are wearing a bib. Lots of drool worthy coins. Rumour has it that the collection might be available for 2 million.

Very interesting! Nealeffendi, thanks for the information, it really there are interesting coins.
In NGC this obverse 1927 is described as "very scarce" in average condition and "extremely rare" in high grades. So if my coin is at least XF45, it must be almost "extremely rare".
Really can not find other specimens with 8 pearls on the web or ebay sales.

Interesting fact: the Benchmark penny MS64 was purchased for $ 1,700 Nov 2002. This is the same coin from the link here:

I wonder how much this coin worth now, 12 years later.

coinman1974, I think your coin is London Die, not Indian.
London die:

"The last stroke of the N in OMN is aligned between rim beads."
"The semicolon after IMP is directly aligned with a rim bead."

Indian die: "The last stroke of the N in OMN is directly aligned with a rim bead."
"The semicolon after IMP is aligned between rim beads."

So ... my initial hopes on the seller`s pictures is justified - it`s Indian die, coin arrived today and I am very happy. Very nice, uncleaned coin, probably a very small number of collectors in Australia have this coin in similar quality. So these pictures are greeting from Europe to all Australian numismatists.

An excellent pick up. There are few in higher grade than yours.
