Does anyone see it?

Not really, but I made an offer of $3 on the coin.

Update: I showed the photos to my wife and she says it looks like the first A in AMERICA could be weak due to grease, but she's not sure. She wants better photos of the reverse. (She worked in photography for 25 years.)

That's a very very minor grease-filled die, definitely not a $52 grease-filled die...

The "A" does look weak but the blurry pics don't help.

He sent me a counter-offer of $51.99.

I don't see the coin as being worth much more that the $3.00 offer I sent. It's covered with scratches and bag marks. If he's had it in storage for 40 years, where was the coin the other 3 years between being struck and now?

As far as an error coin, I don't see it getting a " Struck Through Grease" label even from ANACS and I don't think the coin would grade MS because of the amount of marks on the coin. I would be surprised to see it get higher than a AU-58.

I've been wrong on coins before, but my $3.00 offer is about as high as I would go. Well maybe $5.00 but that's it for me.

Am I way off base here? What do you think this coin would grade from the seller's photos and what is the max you would pay for it?

Thanks!
Ben
