I took a $24 gamble and submitted what I believe to be an Inverted S MM to ANACS. We shall see
Looks identical to this coin:

I thought I had pics in my database but I don't
I'll post some pics when I get it back.

Glad I caught this. Looking through my 15 pounds of wheats the other day, I found a penny that I SWORE had an upside down S, but threw it back in the pile having never heard of it... and it is a bag of AU/MS wheats from the 40s my great grandad saved.

I've got to go through them again to look for extra thickness and DDRs. I'm not good enough yet to be able to identify either, so I'm waiting until I get a microscope and more experience. I'll keep an eye out on the inverted MM.

Thanks Thad! Looks to be VF+ range. If it's a normal ball serif, then oh well. I hope it's inverted :-)

Bulb at the top, triangle at the bottom - anything else is improperly aligned.

No...the shape of the serifs. The bulb goes on top and the triangle goes on the bottom.

I don't think it is. It has to have that little "cut" separating the triangle and rest of mm on the bottom of the S. Top on non inverted mm.
