OcalaFlorida Pillar of the Community United States 2824 Posts	Posted 07/24/2014 12:07 pm Yeah John1 I noticed that also it matched rpm 2 - which is listed as s-s-s-s on wexlers site FS-25-1947S-502 but on most example including slabbed rpm 2 they are s-s-s I think only the early die might be s-s-s-s. and pgcs say S/S I have no clue .. I been trying to find a good refference with images for Washington quarter RPM and DDO / DDR Report this Post to the Staff

Washington quarter don't seam to have a good visual reference lol.. The coin I posted was rpm 2 - 1947-S RPM-002 - FS-25-1947S-502 When I looked it up it is called S/S / S/S/S or S/S/S/S depending on which site you choose... in cpg its is listed as 1947S Silver quarter RPM#2 S/S/S South and South the original place I looked it up was varietyvista thats is where I got description from on VV it says S/S/S/S http://www.varietyvista.com/Variety....htm#_1947-S on PCGS it just says S/S http://www.pcgscoinfacts.com/CoinIm...spx?s=145022 on ngc it says S/S/S http://www.ngccoin.com/coin-varieti...-fs-502-4247 Anacs says S/S/S http://coins.ha.com/itm/washington-...6044-11087.s Report this Post to the Staff

7TF Pillar of the Community 743 Posts	Posted 07/24/2014 4:02 pm The missing remnants of the S were most likely cleaned up later in the dies life to make it not so obvious. They probably did some die polishing in that area. I seem to remember some VAMs with similar occurrences, but I can't seem to find a reference to them at this time.
