At the moment my Lincoln cents are stored in 2 of The Offical US Mints album (grey album). I want to switch them to a Dansco album. I have be looking at supplies store (websites) and on ebay. My interest is to have 1 book for all the cents starting 1909 PDS-present. I noticed that there are 2 Dansco Lincoln albums made #7100 and #8100. My question to you is - what is the difference between the two (7100 and 8100)? Thanks, mila_

I think one is with Proofs and one is without Proofs...

nohope587 is correct. 7100 is Lincoln Cents 1909 to date. 8100 is Lincoln Cents 1909 to date including proof only issues.

Thank you nohope587 and docsfishn. So then I guess the 8100 is the one.

8100 is 1909-2007pds I am not sure that you can fit another page in it for 2008 and beyond. This is something that I am going to find out tho, otherwise I will be switching to the 1909-1958 dancso, and the 1959-whenever including proofs. Or I have thought about doing it with a 1909-2024 without proofs dansco and then get a second album thats 2 blank cent pages for my proofs so I can go back as far as I want on proofs and add things like a 95 double die and 72 double die and such that the regular dansco has no slot for. If there is a way to fit one more page in the 8100 tho I would love to have it all in one book.

Mila_cent, I opted to go with the Dansco 7103 for my Lincoln Wheat Cents. It holds business strike coins - 1909 thru 1958D. For my Lincoln Memorial Cents, I got the Dansco 7102 which holds business strike coins from 1959 thru 2024. Neither album has holes for proof coins, but that works for me since I don't collect proof coins other than the dollar coins. Just my Two Cents worth. Ralph

My Two Cents is on Whitman Classic Albums. I've got 10 them for Lincoln Cents from 1909 to present. I've been adding pages and now can go up to about 2020. It is getting harder to add those pages but still works. With Whitman the blue color makes a copper coin stand out better. The Dansco, being brown makes brownish coins look even browner. Agree Dansco is supposed to be the best manufactured as far as quality, but more versitility with Whitman. For example you can make your own albums with blank pages and the gold colored press on dates, letters, numbers, etc. For Siver coins I still think the Dark Blue makes them look better also. Just added my 97th Whitman Album to my mess. If I prefer to just make a storage Album for say Mercury dimes, I can put as many as 3 sets in one Binder which I have done. Sorry, but since I like Whitman Albums better. Just wish they were made better.

I've never seen slipcases for Whitman Albums and I don't think other brands would fit. Can't remember if the Dansco Albums are higher or wider than the Whitman Albums but I remember they are different. I had on Littleton Album and it was a lot shorter and fell apart so the garbage people how have it. I just put all my top albums in a zip lock bag and push out as much air as possible. My highes grade coins are all in what I call sets #1 or #2. These are all in those zip lock bags. Prior to those I just used freezer type bags for as long as they have been in existance. Of course when I was a little kid there was not to many freezers so no need for freezer bags. So far all my coins in the Whitman Albums look the way they did when I put them in there. Many have been with me for well over 60 years now.
