I have had this coin for many years and it has a issue on the outside of the rim. I'm not sure if it is a error, partial clip, PMD, or was attached to something at some time? Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thank you CC for your opinion. I have to agree it must be some sort of PMD. I have never seen anything like this on the edge of a coin. I'm not very familiar with error coins so I posted it hoping those that collect errors may have seen something like this before. Just too bad it's on a key date coin and it will probably effect it's value.

PMD. Looks like someone took a pliers to it.

IMO this looks like a minor clip, there would be no Blakeley effect because the clip was so minor but the weakness in the denticles on each side without any scratches or damage makes me think this is not PMD.

I'm also thinking it's a very minor clip.

I think it is a legitimate clip as well. However, the clip is so small I don't see it as being desirable to a collector of clipped coins. It may end up reducing the value of the coin rather than adding a premium.
Rest in Peace

Thanks for your opinions on this coin. I think I would rather it be a very small clip rather than PMD. At least it was the way it was issued. I do agree that regardless if it's a clip or PMD it will have negative effect on the value of this coin. If it was a major clip it may have a premiuim.
