This coin is one that until just a minute ago I thought was a newer penny, because of the condition, and when I looked at it it appears to be either a DDR or a double strike. Can anyone advise me?

Im not seeing the DDO part so whatever doubling you are seeing is probably MD. The picture is to blurry to see the MD but clear enough to see its not a doubled die. Note its not a double strike for that is a different error altogether.

I'm not getting some of these to upload, but I do have one that did. That is where the most prominent error is, but the picture is not doing it justice. The letters almost appear like a rolling pin was use.

the worn die,aka Die Deterioration that John1 talks about can sometimes create doubling effect, trails and sorts of weirdness, but that is not a DDR.

What helped me is to look at coins that are a DDR.. the oval shape of the dot, thickness in wheat stalks etc
