Did anyone else order the Tokelau Yellowfin Tuna 1 coin and were you disappointed? I know that it is bullion and I don't expect it to arrive in MS70 condition. However, all 5 that I ordered came in with scratches all over them. Since I like to collect 1 oz silver from different countries, I have ordered a number of them from various places, but have never been disappointed like this. It's too bad that I decided to "double down" and order 5 thinking that they would be good barter for other 1 oz'ers that I like. I'm afraid they are just stackers now. Anyone have ideas for how to minize my chances of getting duped on coin quality?

I heard they were bad, but still ordered a couple for my collection. Hoping for a miracle that one of them is good lol.
Obviously if you buy any coin without actually seeing the coin you are going to get, you take the risk of it not being up to par. I feel like there is a good amount of luck that goes into getting good quality moderns. I think you did the right thing by ordering 5 to up your chances of getting a good one. I do that too and sell a few to my brother who just stacks silver, couldn't care less about quality and treats them as rounds.

I have seen many on ebay that looked poor in quality. If you can get a clean strike, it is a beautiful coin.

I see they are following the Yellowfin with a shark in 2015, due out anytime. I'm hoping they have resolved their quality issues since last year.

From what I can tell they are no better. Unless 50 cents above spot.

When they were first made they had a shiney background. This is where they had issues. All the coins had lots of scratches and dings. Almost every distributed returned them. So they then changed them to more if a matte finish. Which looked a lot better. I would Sat the more shiney ones are probably more rare because everyone sent them back They are not the greatest quality coin but they were not much above spot when I bought some of them Mine are the matte ones and they look decent

ok that explains it. I have the matte finish type, kind of like the suriname and libertad coins.
