It's a mint state coin but the dig in her neck doesn't help.

Doesn't look mint-state to me. I see definite wear, a lower-end AU here. The hit/dig/punch-mark on the neck would get an "AU Details: Damage", I'm guessing.

You could take a hammer to it and it's still valuable as it is made of 3.328 grams of .917 gold.

Thanks for your thoughts and comments. The dig or whatever it is on the neck is the biggest flaw/mark on the coin that I can see. As has been noted, there is some wear to the coin, but in hand there is a lot of luster still present. NGC has graded this coin as AU 58, which I am a little surprised at after reading your comments. If the mark is really some kind of major damage I wonder how it still received the 58 grade. What do you think ICCS would grade it as? Thanks again!

ICCS would likely go EF 40

I think ICCS would grade your coin AU-55...It would come with a comment on the flip "obverse mark" or a similiar comment.

Here is an 1888 ICCS graded AU-55. I wouldn't say NGC over graded this particular coin.

ICCS would likely grade your foin EF-45, AU-50 if you're lucky. That dig looks big enough to get the coin a details grade. Wonder why it was put in a "problem-free" slab? ICCS is actually lenient with problem coins compared to US TPG's but I think they would note something like "damage" or "obverse mark" in the comments.

I'd say EF45 as well, maybe AU50.

It obviously looks like a dig or hit, but I wondered if it was possibly some kind of planchet flaw? I just don't get how NGC could miss something that obvious if they usually give details grades for stuff like that.

Possibly. It is uneven and rounded, something that a common dig might not look like on a nearly mint-state coin. It would be very hard to tell without the coin in hand though. It's already hard to tell planchet flaws from digs, but considering where it is on the coin it's even harder. If it was under a device or letter it would easier to tell.

Even then, NGC notes Planchet flaws on holders. Here's an example:

So I really have no clue what's going on here.

@zxcccxz- That is interesting. The only other thing that comes to mind is that there are really no other big scratches/hits on the coin. Even without that hit, I do not know if it would make MS-60. There is definitely more wear on this coin than on my MS 61 and 62. I just can't figure out any other reason. haha. Thanks for your comments though. I appreciate it.
