I found this in my change can someone tell me if it is a true double die.

It's not it's a worn out die aka deteriorated die.

Its not a doubled die. Class VI doubled dies are very noticeable with thickness in tail of 9s and fatness in 8. This one does not have it sorry. Peterragnar Welcome to forum but you need to read up on doubled dies for these years so you can understand between doubled dies and Mechanical Doubling, Die deteriation, etc.....

If you check on LIBERTY you would note the same thing on the left side of the devices. John1 has the correct answer.

If it were hub doubled, the proper term would be "doubledD die." The die is doubled.

Worn die as noted. This is common to the 80s Zincoln coins where the date can give some double vision.
