Having some trouble identifying whether this medal is one of the originals produced at Kremnitz or one reproduced later on. It is very different from the fisherman's charms that were made for years as far as I can see. 45.8mm and 27.25g.

Your medal looks somewhat different than most, having more detail. My guess is that it may date back to the 1800's? It was likely a fraternal and/or Masonic piece. I doubt it's a thaler or dollar coin as you say ... Just my opinion.

Does it ring like silver? Bet it was a beauty when new!

This design, a development of the Mansfeld Thaler, is generally credited to a Hungarian engraver, Christian Hermann Roth and, with modifications, has been in continuous production ever since.
