I wouldn't be surprised if this has been asked before, but if you're at all collecting the modern commemorative silver dollars, would you be better off purchasing them certified or in the OGP?
I acknowledge slabbed coins would be easier to store, and there could be an upside to limiting yourself to MS70 and PF70 specimens. The downside would be that most of these coins are hardly ever less than MS69 or PF69 quality, so getting rhem slabbed in that grade hardly seems to be any big deal, particularly if they're more expensive that way.
These considerations all beg the larger question of whether collecting these is really at all a worthwhile (and by that I mean from a financial standpoint) pursuit, even in the long term, or whether you'd be better off putting a bit more money into classic Morgan and
Peace dollars instead (which has largely been my inclination}.
I will admit that some of these issues are quite attractive, and when the price has been right, I've occasionally acquired some based upon their aesthetic qualities. I prefer the OGP, but sometimes you take 'em as you find 'em.
