I seem to have a certain affinity for 1828. After I get all five RedBook varieties, I think I am going to start an Overton collection of 1828's. This is what a terminal case of Bust Half fever is like, folks. Lol. Edited by DoubleEagle20 07/31/2014 10:19 pm

Overton 101-123. So 22 Overtons in all. 4 of them have subtypes, 107a, 117a, 118a and 121a. The rare and of course expensive one appears to be O-123.

I just stick to pre-1830 Capped Bust Halves, favoring the earlier pre-1830 dates. I like the design and varieties better than the 1830s.

Thanks 52Raymo. 1810 is my favorite. No true rarities but they are hard to find in higher circulated grades. A comment by GERMANICVS motivated me to start looking at and scraping my pennies together for an 1815. You know you're sick when you have recurring dreams of finding random caches of CBHs or getting an 1830 large letters in change at the gas station.

And another: 1821 O-101 Just a quick pick up for my Overton set. Now to sell off my dups. That is a lesson, never buy Busties right after an eye operation, I managed to get a few dups by misattributing them. Oh, well.

I never even thought about trying for a certain date in coins. A certain type maybe but not just one year. If I did I think I'd go for 1916. So much stuff happened in coinage that year.
