I recently started looking for die rotations while hunting. I found lots of rotated nickels, but according to the forum less than 15 degrees is not interesting. It seems that they are all off somewhat though, so is it wise to look for the straight ones instead?

When I buy rotated reverse coins, I'm looking for 40 to 180 degrees. Some collectors will buy coins with less rotation, but the premium drops off quickly.

With 7,246,884,105 nickels minted from 1970 to 1979 (all 3 mints) you have to think that most are going to be struck correctly with no rotation. These wouldn't command any premium.

Most error collectors are looking for medal struck coins as far as rotated dies.

I bought a mint sewn bag of 1974-D Cents and found that 95% + were rotated from 10 to 30 degrees, but this was a very odd bag of cents.

I would have thought the same, that they should mostly be correct, but I have only just started paying closer attention and found nearly all of the early 70's ones I have are a few degrees off. To find one dead on straight seemed to be less common.

Are we talking USA nickels or Canadian nickels? I am pretty sure there was only one mint during the 70's in Canada (unless you include the few runs from the Philly mint)

Canadian nickels.
I know I didn't specify that but this is the Canadian varieties section.
I have found that 1972 1973 1975 and 1978 seem to be more rotated than straight up
