Picked up some more ancient coins from a collection that
came is last week.

This is a big learning experience for me. I think I need
to stick with coins that have more details. But some of them seem to be very interesting.

Most are a little better looking then my pictures show.

Experts, please let me know if any of the coins I am posting .. are coins I should avoid ... based on condition.

It's difficult to turn down a sestertius, at least it is for me. Though I would have had to think twice about this one. From the pictures, the coin is overcleaned looks like it might have been by electrolysis which causes the surface to look pitted. Sorry to b so harsh.

Well we all make the occasional 'hasty' purchase.
Not very much eye appeal and has been noted possibly overcleaned.
The coin was probably a bit of a runt to begin with and someone thought it could not hurt to try and improve the condition it was in.
Good to learn from your own mistakes as well as the mistakes that others have made. When cleaning an ancient go slowly and unless you know what the end result should be ...... Don't do it !
Even a low grade bronze retains some charm if it has the patina of two thousand years to show for it.
Stripped down to bare metal it is just a "runt"
