My Sear roman coin book just came. When looking up this coin, I am thinking the bust looks more like Decentius.

Expert opinions?

Got some BD at the hairline there, you need to get that dealt with, and then you'll have a good example there.

The legend begins D N MAG which combined with the portrait style means it is Magnentius.
And a very nice Magnentius it is too ! Many of his coins are concidered 'unofficial' and have a low standard of quality.
This one seems to be quite reasonable although I cannot quite make out the mint mark on the bottom reverse side. LPAR perhaps ?
If so it is Arles which is good !
You did well with this one.

GR, get a fingernail or toothpick on that green stuff. if any of it comes off as a powdery stuff, treat for BD!

The reference which I consulted lists LPAR as a variant mark for Arles .......
Perhaps a typo !

I used some Verdi-care to try getting the green off.

taking the pictures outside, I was losing the sun.
In a hurry I did not see a couple grains of sand on
the coin.

Just wanted to see if any thought this was a improvement.

Beautiful portrait. For this quality most dealers would be asking 40-50 dollars at least.
A winner ! (Almost every time)
