couple of odd things as follows:

1 - round "bulge" in the middle of coin - suspected it was damaged from other side - it does not show any effects on the reverse of the coin

2 - head has no details - no scratch marks indicating it was abraded away

3 - look at the outer edges of the cent and you can see a kind of unconformity around the rim - most pronounced at the "L" in liberty, "TRUST"

I would suspect PMD, but its just not sitting well with me. . .

Seriously though, I have no idea. Never seen anything like that in my life. My best guess would be almost every form of PMD imaginable with a possible error. I honestly can't wait to here the other theories.

wheatchaser - I think you are right.

i think there is def. some PMD, but something is "off" otherwise. gotta be the aliens
