I do not have a picture yet but I would say it is in quite good condition, my grandfather bought it at a shop in france in 1990 for 405 franc at the time. Now I feel that the time is right to sell it, I have gotten a offer from a coin shop here in Norway at 1400 NOK ( 222 USD ) but I cannot help but feel that it is a bit low.
Does anyone know the value on this one? It would help me tremendously. Thanks in advance for any answers:-)
If it's circulated it's worth melt. If uncirculated, a small premium over melt. These are very common (Just like a lot of the other European gold of the time). I think you'd be looking at $200-$250 like thq said.
FYI, most roosters are modern (post-WWII) restrikes. Dies from early 1900 were used, I don't think there is a way to know which one is modern or not (unless you have an early type with a different rim)
